The Massey Company traces its roots back to the 1860s when A. W. Heath opened his first general mercantile store in what is today Waxhaw, NC. Mr. Heath’s grandson, Henry Massey expanded this business to Mt Holly, NC and opened the first store under the Massey name. Fire destroyed this store in the late 1950s and pictured on this page is the Grand Reopening of Massey Hardware Co in 1959 in Mt. Holly.

Today, The Massey Company is in its fifth generation of family management and ownership and is a leader in valves, valve automation, instrumentation and specialty plant equipment.
